How EnquiryPath collects, uses, stores and protects personal information for enquiries, orders and public-information-only report delivery.

EnquiryPath is a trading name of Chris Salmon. For data protection purposes, Chris Salmon trading as EnquiryPath is the controller of personal information processed through this website and service unless stated otherwise.

Information we collect
We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to run EnquiryPath, respond to enquiries, process payments, deliver reports and meet legal obligations.
- Contact information such as name, business name, role, email address and phone number if provided.
- Order information such as service purchased, order date, payment status, business website URL, location or service area and intake details.
- Communication information such as emails, contact form messages, support requests, feedback or complaints.
- Website usage information depending on the tools used, such as pages visited, device type, browser type, referring website and checkout events.
- Limited payment information from providers such as Stripe, such as payment status, transaction reference, order value and customer email. EnquiryPath does not store full card details.
- Public business information reviewed for reports, including website content, public Google search results, Google Business Profile information, reviews, directories, social proof and competitor information.
How we use information
- Respond to enquiries and guidance requests.
- Process orders and manage payment records.
- Prepare and deliver public-information-only reports.
- Ask clarification questions and provide customer support.
- Improve the website and services.
- Prevent fraud, misuse or security issues.
- Maintain tax, accounting, legal and complaint records.
Lawful basis
We use personal information where necessary for contract delivery, legitimate business interests, legal obligations or consent where required, such as for non-essential cookies or optional communications.
AI-assisted processing
EnquiryPath may use AI-assisted tools to help structure research, analyse public information, identify patterns, draft findings and improve report clarity. AI tools are support tools. Final reports are subject to human review and editorial judgement.
Customers should not send personal data about their own customers, employees or suppliers unless necessary and they have the right to do so.
Sharing information
We may share information with trusted providers where necessary to run the business, including website hosting, payment processing, email services, analytics, cloud storage, professional advisers or authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
- General enquiries: up to 24 months.
- Customer emails: up to 36 months.
- Order and payment/accounting records: up to 7 years.
- Draft report materials: up to 12 months.
- Final report files: up to 24 months unless longer retention is needed for dispute, reference or legal reasons.
- Complaint records: up to 6 years.
Your rights and security
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, request portability, withdraw consent or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
We take reasonable steps to protect information, including secure hosting, HTTPS, reputable payment processors, restricted access to business systems and keeping secret keys out of public code repositories.
